Child Visa (101 and 802 Visa)

This visa is for a dependent child of an Australian citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent visa

To be eligible to apply for a child visa you must:
  • be a dependent child of a parent who is an Australian citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent visa
  • be under 18 years, a full-time student aged over 18 and under 25 and financially dependent on the parent, or over 18 and unable to work due to a disability
  • be single and dependent on the parent

Contributory Parent Visa (143 Visa)

This visa is for settled Australian citizens, Permanent residents or Eligible New Zealand citizens to help their parents to migrate to Australia permanently.

To be eligible to apply for this visa you must:
  • meet the balance-of-family test, unless you are applying for the Retirement Pathway or hold a Subclass 173 visa
  • have an Assurance of Support, unless you are applying for the Retirement Pathway
  • not have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (Subclass 870) visa when applying for this visa

Contributory Aged Parent Visa (864 Visa)

This visa is for settled Australian citizens, Permanent residents or Eligible New Zealand citizens to help their aged parents to migrate to Australia permanently.

  • meet the balance-of-family test, unless hold a Subclass 884 visa
  • have an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
  • be old enough to receive the age pension in Australia
  • not have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (Subclass 870) visa when applying for this visa

Sponsored Parent (Temporary) visa (870 Visa)

This visa is for an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident usually resident in Australia for at least 4 years or eligible New Zealand citizen usually resident in Australia for at least 4 years, and have not been unlawful or held a bridging visa (other than a bridging visa A, B or C) during the last 4 years to sponsor their parents to visit Australia for 3 or 5 years. The holder of this visa cannot work in Australia.
